LOUDOUN COUNTY REPUBLICAN WOMEN’S CLUB DONATES NEARLY 3,000 BOOKS TO LOUDOUN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS’ TITLE 1 DESIGNATED SCHOOLS
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA: October 11, 2023 – The Loudoun County Republican Women’s Club (LCRWC) donated nearly 3,000 books to all 8 of the LCPS Title 1 designated schools this week as part of its second annual book drive.
In 2022, former LCRWC President Erin Roselle-Poe launched the LCRWC book drive that resulted in 1,700 books donated to LCPS Title 1 Schools. This week the club donated 2,903 English and Spanish titles, books to support students with dyslexia, as well as classic and popular books for all grade levels.
“Loudoun County Republican Women are pleased to donate thousands of books to our Title 1 schools. This was truly a community-wide effort as many residents from across the county contributed books. Our club members and the Loudoun community as a whole are passionate about literacy, our children, and our schools,” stated Creal French, LCRWC President.
“The knowledge, the journeys, and the inspiration found in books is priceless. Even the act of holding a book in your hands is invaluable. It’s a tangible opportunity to help young readers explore history, culture, ideas, and stories that only exist in the world of books. I believe that knowledge is power. It fosters imagination, independent thinking and much more,” said Erin Roselle-Poe, who championed the book drive effort for the LCRWC again this year.
“Our Title 1 schools deserve the opportunity to have access to books that sometimes their teachers are too financially burdened to provide,” Roselle-Poe continued. “This was a great opportunity to provide thousands of books to those schools. This is truly what it means to work as a community and provide for others.”
